Whoa, there's going to be a Rouse's at Lee and Burbank? This makes me very happy.

Kroger bought out Harris Teeter here in NC, which was much bigger than Rouses.

Not much has changed. The local "flagship" store has a bar in the middle where you can get growlers of craft beer and pints. Also aged steaks, fresh sushi, and whatnot. I'm sure they would use the same concept for current Rouses in good areas. They'd probably even keep the rouses name, like they did Harris teeter, and won't rebrand.

The transition at the Drusilla store is a cluster. You can usually count on hearing at least three employees standing by the door bitching, the shelves aren't consistently stocked, items in the circular aren't in the store, the liquor section is smaller than most Rouses, and the produce doesn't compare.

I never shopped at LeBlanc's, but love(d) Rouses. They should have slowed the change over until they could make it a real Rouses.

Strangely, I saw exactly the opposite when Rouses came to New Orleans (carcass of Sav-a-Lot) and Mobile (the truly flammable Delchamps-Brunos-Belle debacle). But the bar was really low.

Exactly what I thought.

Plus pick up a pirogue and homemade aluminum BBQ pit for good measure.

What does this mean?

Grackles are a bird that apparently winter in Katy. In the evening there will be thousands all about the HEB (at Fry & 99).

It's not much of an exaggeration to say there may be 5 to 10 birds perched on every vehicle in the parking lot, they line up along the store roof, and in all the trees. And they poop. Somehow, one placed it just under my chin and above my shirt line. Give credit where it's due; great shot placement.

Here's an article that discusses it: LINK

The woman in that article compliments grackles by liking their "song".

Song? SONG? More like the squeal of a small animal being strangled. Loud as Heck as well.

Rouses took the Duplessis location of Leblancs backwards 10+ steps. Turmoil, lots of shite out of stock, lacking selection in areas and the quality of employee is way worse. It's still my best option here, but I feel like I lost a great chain for a mediocre one. Tonight's annoyance, no unbleached flour and the flour footprint is half the size. It's a constant theme every trip.

My aunt loves the 12th St Kroger in LC.
I never went inside that store when I lived there. I did go into the old Hwy 14 one though.
