A menu of small plates closer to Kin's original dinner menu will still be offered along with the ramen.

I think this is a good move. I need to give their ramen another try, wasn't thrilled with the only bowl I had there.

Hieu admits that he prefers the fine dining menu that was originally served at Kin. He hopes to find a second location. When that happens, the ramen shop will move there and the original, Washington Avenue location will return to serving fine dining at dinner.

Well this is weird.

Would have thought he would keep the current place as ramen, and if a 2nd locale is found, make that the old menu. Regardless, I'll miss the old menu. Was a fantastic place.

Had the some ramen there last week and liked it better than the house ramen at Noodle & Pie. I am far from an authority on ramen though.
I think what I had at Kin was called Tonkontsu

Went for the second time last week and still wasn't terribly impressed. Not amazing and the cost for the quantity you receive seemed off

I love the food there but it's pricing is high even for magazine st. The prices on small dishes should be the price for regular portions.

I wish I had ordered one of the daily special bowls, one of them sounded really awesome.

Their sprouts small plate was really legit, and many of the others sounded good, but the small sizes were like 10 bucks. Seems like a lot for what it is, IMO.

Went for an early dinner this week, and the pared down menu still has plenty of interesting things on it. Had duck confit gnocchi and an excellent but rich bowl of crawfish ramen, complete with fried stuffed crawfish heads. Definitely will return during this ramen iteration phase. If it was in Bywater or Marigny, the hipster fooderati would be singing its praises. Hope the eventual ramen shop stays inthe uptown/MidCity area.

That anyone thinks this place is going to be gone is crazy. They are putting out really good food and being creative. That crawfish bisque ramen is really good. I'll be having lunch on Saturday, like usual.

I've seen it happen to a BBQ place that had a line out the door everyday.

I need to get back over there and try the crawfish ramen.
