I have a frozen tub of rice dressing mix from them. Do I just thaw it out and mix with cooked rice? Add anything else?

I’ve never had Kartchner’s, but I usually brown a pound of ground beef or ground pork and some onions, etc and add the dressing mix to that.

Savoie makes a dressing mix. Their instructions say: Suggested Use: Thaw contents. Simmer on stove top at 165 degrees F or higher for 10 to 20 minutes. Cook 1 cup of rice per pound of dressing mix. Add dressing mix to the cooked rice gradually, while Blending thoroughly.
Note: I don’t really care for the Savoie mix.

Same here - I mix ground beef and ground pork with Richard's (personal favorite). Comes out pretty good.

Brown some ground beef. Add the mix to the pot. Cook some rice, more than you think you'll need. Add the rice a big spoon at a time until it's at the texture you want.
Make some fried rice for breakfast the next morning with the extra rice.

cook the rice in chicken stock for added flavor. (I make my own mix, so I can't comment on Karchner's or other vendors)

Thanks for the responses. This 1# container doesn't list ingredients or any type of directions. I assume its the trinity browned down with liver, and I guess no meat. I'm thawing it now, will report back with what I think it is in case anyone else's mother-in-law dumps this tub in your freezer.

Give them a call. They've been very helpful when I've called for cooking instructions or tips.
I've only used the Hebert's dressing mix. I haven't added any meat to it and it was fine. If you want heavier meat, it's certainly fine to add it.

So I did this. It has everything in it, just add cooked rice. Per the lady I talked to “1 cup cooked rice per 1 cup of their stuff if you like it real meaty.” I had already browned a pound of meat as others suggested so I spiced that up, mixed in the Kartchners tub, then folded with 3 cups cooked rice (that I cooked in chicken stock) and 1 bunch of chopped green onions. Tastes right to me!

Glad it worked out. I bet it tastes great!
