Yelp and Tripadvisor, but then again so was Oceana
Oceana was also on the show Kitchen Nightmares. So there's that
They would come off my list, as would Royal House. Can't speak to 801 Royal. Eat will be very relaxed and casual -- sounds like what you're looking for. Peche is fantastic and I can't imagine you ever needing a jacket for a meal there. Other options that are nice but not exactly white tablecloth in the area, I suppose Root and Sylvain.
In the future, don't trust Tripadvisor. Awful. Yelp is okay, I guess.

Get rid of Oceana and go to either Peche or Boucherie instead.

I'm not sure you know what the word incredible means.

I wouldn't burn a dinner at Royal House, but it's a nice spot to get a dozen raw while day drinking in the Quarter. Sit on the balcony and people watch.

I'm a big fan of Royal House, their apps & entrees are really good. Here are some of my suggestions:
Apps:
Redfish beignets
*Crab claws
Puff pastry stuffed w seafood
Oyster duo
Entrees:
*Oyster BLT poboy
*Shrimp & grits
Crawfish Ravioli
*Oyster pasta
Pecan Crusted Mahi dish
*favorite "go-to's"

Good lunch option then?

Oceana hasn't been the same since Bobby Hebert went off on his own

Depends on what your expectations are for lunch. It probably wouldn't be my go-to. If you would provide a little more info like other people have suggested, you could get better recommendations.

I ate at EAT last month and left unimpressed.
I personally really like Ralph's on the Park, Sylvain, La Petite Grocery...
As for all of the Link restaurants (Cochon, Peche, Herbsaint, Butcher) that I've been to, I've liked them all, but I wasn't blown away like many others on this board seem to have been.

I'm thinking you could do a lot better, but you could do much worse too. I'm not a local though... I'd let them steer you. There's just so many better places right there in that vicinity.

There are significantly better options in Nola. I just don't know why you chose this places.

Do this.

Casual laid back atmosphere and of course good food. I don't put a whole lot of emphasis on lunch when I travel. It's just the meal to hold me over between breakfast and dinner.

Cochon-Butcher for lunch if your into sandwiches.

Why no Peche or Cochon?
