801 Royal
Eat
Royal House
Clancy's
Atchafalaya
Oceana

This a good list of restaurants. Any of you been to any of these, namely 801 Royal and Royal House and if so how were they?

How could oceana make anyone's "list"?

You're missing some real gems

Seemed like a decent menu if I recall. I'll skip that one but what about the others I mentioned?

No to Oceana. Why no Peche or Cochon?

EAT is great but not very fussy. I like that. Very good food, relaxed but good service, and you BYO wine. Great for brunch or a nice quiet dinner.

I considered Cochon. Will probably eat there instead of Oceana. I don't guess anyone knows anything about the Royal St. offerings?

Weird list.

Atchafalaya and Clancys are wonderful. Eat is decent.

The rest? Nope. (801 Royal is ok from what I understand)

Oceana is among the very worst restaurants in Nola.

You need a new list bro.

Do Sylvain if you want something in the FQ. Way better than some places you've listed.

Replace Oceana with Peche.

You need to try Peche on a trip.

If you want to eat in the quarter. Then I would say Muriel's or Cane and Table.

What are you looking for in the way of foods, cost, dress, location?

You have a "different" list. I agree that Oceana should be dumped for sure and I'd also suggest Peche in it's place for lunch or dinner.

I haven't been to Royal House. I've heard good things about the chargrilled oysters and maybe the fried, but not much else.

I don't think I've ever seen anything about 801 Royal on this board. I may have missed a post on it.

If you got to Peche, remember to order more than fish sticks

I would prefer not to have to break out the sports coat at every meal

Both were highly rated on Yelp and Tripadvisor, but then again so was Oceana so see how much I know.

That was your first mistake

Start a new thread asking for recs. include desired location and price point. Even better if you include how many in party, lunch or dinner, and any special interests (stake lover, fresh seafood, type of cuisine, etc)

Yeah, not a good idea. You need recs from locals rather than tourists.

Just change your title to something like "Need some help with choosing Nola restaurants". Then, edit your first post that you are now considering changing your choices and put in the info that Cork advised you on. Or, you can start a new thread as Cork suggested. Your current list is not optimal.

Include the days of the week, you'll be there and what meals you're looking for like breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner....
