Looking to try out a new italian place this week. Anyone have any suggestions as far as the Northshore? I've been to Sal and Judy's a few times and I'll be there soon for a family member's birthday, so that's out. Anything around $20-$25 a meal would be fine. Not looking for anything fancy.

TIA

Bosco's on Hwy 59 is legit. They also have a location at Terra Bella, but check the hours of if before planning the trip.

Fazzio's on the 190 Frontage Road is my third choice.

Coscinos is really good, not expensive. Across from Kmart on 190 in Mandeville

I'd go to Tope La, LINK. I've heard great things about it. They have a reasonably priced Italian menu and a more expensive LA-Italian fusion style one that you'd have to stay away from apps to get in under the $25 per mark. Looks interesting though.

I really enjoyed Del Porto a few months back. You could probably get in and out of there for $25 a head for lunch.

My understanding is this is the best on the Northshore.

I did have a very nice meal at Lola a few months ago. It's not entirely Italian, but it does have several nice Italian dishes.

Think I had the lasagna which was excellent.

Del Porto for me. I don't like the other "red sauce" places up here. I can make that at home. Bosco's makes a great muffuletta though.

Del Porto is probably my favorite place on the Northshore.

All good recommendations on this thread.

Bosco's is probably the most consistent and meets what you are looking for.

Fazzio's is very underrated. I have never had a bad meal there and they make the best drinks in town. Not sure I would consider it just an Italian place though. They have a large variety of choices.

I am not a fan of Nuvalari's.

Gio's is also very good, but their service is always slow.

Thanks a lot, guys. Sounds like a lot of good options. I forgot to mention Bosco's when I said I'd been to Sal and Judy's. My wife and I's rehearsal dinner was there and we couldn't have asked for a better experience.

I'm going to bookmark this thread and try and check out every place mentioned, eventually. I may start with Del Porto since that was mentioned the most.

I knew I could get good feedback here, so I appreciate the help.

I did not see it mentioned, but Assunta's near Lacombe is excellent. It is one of the best restaurants in St.Tammany. Their specialty is Italian cuisine and the atmosphere is nice.
