There's a reason Yuengling is in the top twenty or so most popular beers in the country. It's easy drinking, and appeals to a lot of people. It was a beer that got me trying other beers. But once you get into better beers, it loses a lot of its luster.

It's a good beer at the price. I prefer it to bud and miller products. On par with Coors original.

its a very average beer, especially in a day and age of craft beer.

everyone i know who gets a hard-on over it is from the northeast and its a nostalgic thing.

if i ever go to Specs or Total Wine and browse the 4 aisles of beer, i would never even consider Yuengling

It's like Kraft cheddar cheese, it's not good cheese, but it appeals to a mass audience.

Its a mass produced beer.

I actually prefer their Light to Coors Light or Bud Light.

But I enjoy sleeping in bed with my wife. And the Yuengling farts are legendary. So I stick to Miller Lite.

It's a better alternative to normal cheap beers and light beers

It's better than the American macros and similarly priced. Its allure begins and ends there for me.

It's slightly better than Bud/Coors/Miller and priced about the same.

Got a six pack of their black and tan a couple weeks ago and I actually really liked it. There's obviously better beer that I prefer but I'm sure I'll buy a sixer of it again at some point.

It's decent. Got my first one from a Penn State fan when we played out there. 10 years or so later, as I'm much more into good beer, it's not something I would buy for myself.

Tons of people like it so naturally the people on this board won't like it.

It's a good beer for what it is. I'll drink it.

THIS! As I have said for years, it is no where near the hype it received.

I like this analogy. It works well for beer. Craft beer vs. Kraft beer.

It's a good to very good beer for its price point. I drank a ton of it when I lived in states where it was available, mainly because it's cheap.

some people here think it's be best thing ever, simply because it was unavailable, and some people here shite on it because it gets a lot of praise but isn't as good as a craft brew costing $18 a four pack.

If you take the average of all the reviews, it's pretty accurate: a good, cheap beer.

Sure, it has nothing to do with...

quote:

It's a good beer for what it is.

This. OP didn't ask whether it was "good for what it is" or "good at its price point" or "something you would drink if offered." OP was asking about the beer, objectively. And objectively, it's a little better than the standard BMC offering, which is why I pulled one out of an ice chest at a function not too long ago.

But would I ever buy it? Absolutely not. Because, objectively, being a little better than the standard BMC offering is not very good.
