no, unless you want to burn the gas for an overpriced meal in the middle of nowhere

I’ve been there 3 times. The first two times were great; the last time was mediocre. That said, if you’re passing through, stop. I wouldn’t drive up there just to eat, though. (And don’t get the rabbit.)

I'd say so.
I enjoy it, always get the loaded fries too.

Menu doesn’t look any different than most fried seafood joints to me. I’m sure it’s good but Parrains has a similar menu just down the street. And they have more fish.

No, unless you're passing through. Don't get me wrong, their food's not bad at all and I've enjoyed my meal every time I've been there, but it's also nothing spectacular that you couldn't get closer. Unless you're making a trip through there already, I'd just find a closer fried seafood/steak and grill/hamburger/sandwich/bar food joint.

Just stay home and dump a whole can of Tony’s seasoning in your mouth

We like it for a weekend drive, so yes. I abhor Tony's, so I don't know who ordered what, but nothing I've ever had there reeked of Tony's.

Absolutely....we have a camp at False River and go to Hot Tails often. Their steaks are highly underrated. Get the ribeye with the BBQ shrimp topping. Also, their Soft shell crab BLT is to die for.

If you want to kill some time listening to the radio and eating a good meal, sure. I did it once but have never had the urge to go again.

It's not worth a special trip. Every dish is over seasoned and you order at a counter then a waitress brings the food. If it's busy then the process is stupid. If you're in New Roads Ma Mommas is a better experience.

I've eaten there a couple of times and I didn't like it much. There's something they use in their house seasoning that just doesn't agree with my palate. I would much rather go to Parrain's, Phil's Oyster Bar or even Acme. Shoot, if I'm gonna drive, I'll go to Roberto's.
