I was at a bachelor party in Austin once and had a burger at Crown and Anchor by UT campus. I'd put it a notch under La Petite.

Crown and anchor is a bar and I'd put their burger over any place mentioned in this thread.

Sorry, the best burger is the kale tofu burger from a place called Plaid in Portland

They don't franchise. They are owned by one family, which after some deaths, is now one thirty-three year old woman in California. I couldn't believe it when I read this:

Christian based franchise now owned by a 30 year old heiress who's been married 3 times already

Overrated IMO, went to one in las Angeles after the locals raved about it. Double animal
Style, threw most of the mess away. Whataburger is better if they don't put a whole onion on your burger as some of the stores do. I order a theme burger and cut in half then toss one half of it, don't need 1800 calories of fat. Love those grilled Japs and peppers. I only go once or twice a year to a burger joint anyway..

I live two miles from an In-n-out and once the hype died down, it's just a normal semi busy burger joint

Everyone wants to say they've eaten there once, then next time they want a good burger they go somewhere else

Yeah pretty much. It's a great fast food burger for the price, but not mind blowing. Once the novelty of living near one wore off I hardly went anymore.

Same here in Lake Charles. Lake Charles is one thing but New Orleans doesn't have one? That's just wrong.

We had one about 20 years ago, the A frame building is still there but now it's a Starbucks. Like we have some shortage of those here.
