Houston Chronicle article

quote:

The popular In-N-Out Burger chain is coming to Houston, according to the CBRE real estate firm. In-N-Out Burger is finalizing the purchase of its first site for a Houston location after considering the market several times, Jazz Hamilton, first vice president in the retail division at CBRE said at a panel discussion on the Houston real estate market Tuesday. He declined to disclose the location, but expects the restaurant would open this year. "You'll see them come in quietly," Hamilton said. "All of a sudden, they'll start building all at once."

Whataburger isn't in the same stratosphere as in and out

I, obviously, disagree

In-N-Out has been in Dallas for awhile, I've had plenty of chances to go, and I'll choose Whataburger over it every time.

Good burgers but they need to do something to their fries.

Their fries are my favorite part. I love thin crispy fries.

Inching ever closer to the NOLA metro area. I read that they won't consider expanding into a market unless there is a distribution center x miles away, and I think Texas fits the bill. Fingers crossed.

I think they're pale and lack flavor. And if don't eat it within 3 minutes of coming out of the fryer, it's done.

I used to live a block away from an In n Out in Arizona and I drove past it to get Whataburger

Place is vastly overrated

I think InNOut is super overrated, but I would probably do whatever they wanted (literally, anything) to have the first franchise in NOLA.

Would print money.

I don't get it either; I wouldn't go often even if I had one near me.

In-n-out in Dallas and Austin are pretty weak. Not as good as the California operations.

They don't franchise. They are owned by one family, which after some deaths, is now one thirty-three year old woman in California. I couldn't believe it when I read this:
