this was typed because I am 100% correct, and I called you out on it. Its a free world, anyone one can stand in line to get a bottle but i bet 75% of the people are doing it because they have heard its the bourbon to have and really dont know anything else about it.

Man, if he gets that rare 5 year old pappy just by going to a tasting, after all the running around I've done, I'm going to be so pissed.

tell us how you really feel..

Lemme guess, your question is solely so you can gauge how much money you can make selling it? thebeard is a good dude and is an active member in the bourbon "community" around here. you're the one that looks like a douche

You are 100% wrong. Just because someone who has never tried it (such as myself) and wants to get a bottle (and drop $120-$350 a bottle), doesn't make them any different than yourself (Mr Bourbon).

If I do win one, I will probably never uncork it any time soon.

I am guessing you just started drinking PVW the day you started drinking and no one ever told you about it, you just knew.

look I am not going to lie - it sucks when you put in work all yr with local store owners (not this one) and almost get shut out of the pappy race. I was going in one store where I heard a guy ask about pappy(his quote - I was told I should come ask about a bottle called Pappy? I am not sure what it is but I am looking for one). Again everyone has a right to buy what they want be the media hype has made it near impossible to get a bottle for the regular bourbon guys.

I really don't understand why you're mad and insulting the guy because he wants to go enter a raffle to purchase one of these bottles. Is it because you can't get a bottle? Serious question by the way. Not really trying to be a douche.

This yr I was able to get a bottle of 12 yr and 2 10yr bottles. I was just pointing out that said person was chasing the name not the bourbon. He got mad and then started swearing

I made no insults, only pointing out the facts

key facts - there is no such thing as 5yr old pappy and no such thing as pappy rye. The rye is van winkle family reserve rye

So you are criticizing him for wanting to get a bottle because you think he won't enjoy it as much as you would?

I have two bottles of bourbon in my cabinet, plain old Crown and a bottle of 1792.

I am not a big drinker, maybe a 1 or 2 drinks a week. When I drink, I like the good stuff (Crown excluded).

Every time I go to Hokus Pokus, I tell them to get a lay-a-away plan. If they did that, I would put some of the finer things on lay-a-away - JW Blue (which I have owned 2 bottles before). Its not that I cannot afford it, its the anticipation of getting it

I can't speak to anyone else, but that's why I'm mad. Not really, as I don't live anywhere near P-ville, but it is frustrating. It's like when the rich kid on the block got the Diamondback BMX bike I pined for and never rode it. Except that in this scenario it's people buying something solely for hype - something they never would have thought to buy a year or two ago. I've seen it at all my local stores - which is why places like some stores put $700 price tags on this bourbon that sold for $250 a year ago.

nope - just saying that the last two yrs people are only chasing the name. Its nature, people hear about the popular thing and they want it only because its popular. This created a shortage

try the entire US, people slept outside, just to get a chance to see a bottle. A bottle is like liquid gold.

No, you came in my thread sounding like a total OT ballin bourbon douchebag (you even stated "not to sound like a dick").

I asked a simple question in OP and you get bent all out of shape.
