Have you tried the Le Creole place I mentioned? Looks like a lot is closed on Mondays

I ate here Saturday evening for Mother's Day. Had a great meal and great service. I had heard a few people complaining it was overpriced. I found the prices very reasonable.

I agree with LL, Beuasoleil and LeCreole are both great new additions to the BR scene. I've had both a few times in the last two months.

LeCreole's Crab Cake is my newest BR addiction..joining Anthony's Muff, Gino's Seafood Arancini w/pink suace, Mansur's Brie Soup or Cedar Plank Redfish, Parrain's Catfish Acadiana, Latte e Miele's Milk and Honey, etc..

No and we may end up going there. I just found out that Galatoires in BR is closed on Monday. My mom told me it was open on Monday in BR but Closed in nola.

I think that's where I will bring her. We've eaten at almost every sushi restaurant in BR. We did Melting Pot.

What about Mansurs?

I like the chargrilled oysters and cedar planked fish at Mansur's. I believe it's open every day.

Glad it worked out. What did y'all have there? I'm eating dinner there in a few weeks. I tend to order the same things every time.

I got the cedar planked redfish, my girl got one of the daily specials. It was cobia with some sort of asparagus puree(very good) topped with lump crabmeat and squash and caper risotto.

for an appetizer we had eggplant camelia( fried eggplant medalion topped with lump crabmeat and hollandaise sauce. We also had the zydeco mushrooms.

The appetisers were good not great. They only give you 1 eggplant medalion, but we had 4 stuffed mushrooms. I liked those. In retrospect I wish we would have chosen diffrent apps.

I don't get much of anything with the crabmeat because it's not jumbo lump an usually looks more like white than lump. I've also gotten some that was obviously frozen and I'm not sure the rest isn't pasteurized. All I know is that the fresh crabmeat there has not had the flavor or size that I prefer.

I've had both the eggplant and the mushrooms. I'd just as soon have several medallions of eggplant with the sauce sans the crabmeat.

No chargrilled oysters? That's my favorite thing on the menu.

We should have listened to our server when she suggested those. I dont know what we were thinking. We also almost ordered the egg rolls.

I recommended them, yesterday. I thought maybe y'all just weren't oyster fans. They're really good, though they could be small right now. I've found they put two in a shell when they're small.

The egg rolls are pretty good.

Glad to see a follow up post.

So many people ask for suggestions here and then don't report back.

Thank you.

We love oysters. Clearly made a mistake not ordering them.

Good reason to go back when you're looking for a place to go. I like to sit in the bar and just eat the oysters.

I need to branch out at Mansurs. Every time I go, I get the same thing, and it's always amazing. I start with a dozen charbroiled oysters at the bar, get a table and have the Acadiana Egg Rolls and the Duck Mansur. I just can't convince myself to try anything diffefrent!!
