Someone in the family has a machine that makes badass single serve coffee. It's a nespresso expresso/coffee maker, but you have to use their (very expensive) capsules. The coffee is seriously legit though

I have a real single serve, only one cup of water goes in at a time. I ran a 1/2 cup of vinegar through it this morning, put baking soda in my drain and poured the hot vinegar over it to clean and refresh the drain...............double duty

You're only looking at the cost of the machine.

Same here. I have to wait a few minutes, even after I pour refrigerated creamer in it. I agree that it's overpriced, but it's one of the things I'm willing to pay for because it's quick, easy, and saves time. I'm not 'defending' anything, but it's not a terrible cup of coffee as some on here claim.

I enjoy the coffee. It's the high maintenance/frequent descaling that frustrates me.

Keurig is okay if you use it for what it is. We use it for a quick cup when leaving in the afternoon or if I'm craving coffee after supper. My wife is a night nurse, so she uses it when she gets called out. It's a convenience thing ,that's it. I always make coffee in the mornings.

It's great if you live in a house with multiple people that drink coffee, but prefer different roasts/flavors. For things like that, I don't get the gripe.

Being the only one in my current place that drinks coffee, I just have a little 5-cup Mr. Coffee that works like a champ.

ETA: I'm a Donut Shop Dark fan.

We buy distilled water. Haven't had to descale it yet. About a year old. Typically its used 5-6 times a day

Based on the reviews here, I got the Hamilton Beach model 49981A single-serve coffee maker off Amazon for 39+/- bucks. It arrived today and I just brewed a cup- good and more importantly, hot. I promptly packed up my old Keurig and put it away. For all those who gave it thumbs-up, thanks. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Congrats. You own a machine that not only can brew you a cup of coffee in seconds, but will trigger some of the F&D Community who don't have anything else to worry about.

I love the cups from Trader Joe's. Girlfriend bought me a pack when she was shopping there and now that's all I drink.

We have a new one at the office that makes several sizes and includes a "strong" setting. If an 8 oz. cup set on the strong setting isn't bold enough for you, you likely won't find a cup you like outside your own home.

I got a Keurig 2.0 for Christmas. I can't make a cup with my own coffee strong enough over 8 ozs. When I leave for work I like to bring a 14oz with me. I have tried my regular community dark roast and a folders house blend.

I think it has to do with the coarseness of the ground. Has anyone found an especially fine ground that can compensate for the limited room in the reusable 2.0 cup?

If I have to start buying k cups I will. Just looking for cheaper alternatives.
