We went to the new CP over the holidays. My go-to, the Cubano is made differently there. Not cool, and it's not near as good. Plus they don't have gumbo on their menu and the pickle wasn't as a good as it is at the original location.

Went on NYE for lunch. Ordered the Brisket Sandwich. They put a sandwich in front of me 5-10 minutes later that I assumed was brisket so I started munching. Turned out what I was eating was a Cubano which was good but it didn't have ham only pulled pork, mustard and pickles. They boxed up my brisket sandwich and let me take it for free which I thought was a solid move. Ate it later that evening and was underwhelmed. It didn't have much flavor. The horseradish crema was minimal and I think the bread to meat ratio was to high. Still I enjoyed the restaurant. It looks really nice in there and I'll go back and give them a few more chances but bear in mind the brisket sandwich, side of potato salad(it was good) and a tea was $19. It won't be on my regular lunch rotation.

Totally different Cubano then the other place. Why is that?

I had a Cubano (which was great) from the Perkins location on Christmas eve; however the ham was missing. Don't know if this was accidental or a menu change. I'll be sure to ask next time.
My dad went on NYE to CP2 and to quote him "had the worst brisket sandwich I've ever had." He's officially an old fart so I don't put much stock in his review.

mine didn't have ham either. that was far less disappointing than the bread that was used. most of it crumbled onto the plate

CP Cubano on Hollydale--smoked pork shoulder, honey ham, house pickles. dijon, swiss cheese, pressed on poboy bread.

CP Cubabo on Jefferson--pork shoulder, tasso, house pickles.

I just had the brisket sandwich there for lunch today. I thought it tasted great but could have benefited from the addition of a little more meat. The bread:meat ratio was skewed way too far in favor of the bread. I thought, however, that the taste of the food at CP2 was superior to OGCP. This seems to place me in the minority, but I didn't like the original CP to begin with. I guess I'm weird.

In all, I would not go back to OGCP, would go back to CP2. I'm very interested to try some of their entree style menu items (non-sandwiches).

That is on my to-do list. I wanted to try one of their sandwiches first to see if they were similar to the original location or if they could actually put out good food. I'll gladly risk the $25 on an entree now that I know that the food is good.

Went yesterday and was very underwhelmed. Probably won't go back. Got the brisket sandwich. Would be surprised if there was more than 2 ounces of meat on it. Got the Mac and Cheese that was too salty and water. All for $17.

Get rid of the over-priced chef and add Messicans cooks. Problems solved.

the meatball dish is definitely overpriced also. from the looks of the crowd when i was in there though, they wont mind overpaying for food.

looked like bocage spilled into the place
