There are a lot worse options that's for sure.

Not too great at 270 calories/serving, but it depends on what your goals are. If you're trying to lose weight, I'd find a better snack.

exactly. the serving sizes are very small. its amazing once you realize how small serving sizes are

go pick up a bag of peanuts or almonds. a normal 7/11 sized bag that we could kill in 2 minutes usually has over 500 calories. 160 per serving and 3+ servings per bag

trail mix is the worst. most bags have over 700 calories and TONS of sugar

I would find denser nutritional snacks like whole fruits and carrots and shite. hard boiled eggs, cottage cheese, string cheese, apple with natural PB

I love banana chips, but I don't eat them because of the info posted in your OP. I eat frozen bananas a few times a week though... Almost tastes like ice cream.

My friend asked me if I wanted a frozen banana, I said "No, but I want a regular banana later, so … yeah".- Mitch Hedberg

Fruit is fruit. Like another poster mentioned, you could be consuming far worse products than banana chips.

With that beings said, dehydrated fruit at retail markets almost always is accompanied with added sugar or preservatives.

What I find alarming about the cited nutritional information is the fat content of banana chips. Bananas have almost no fat calories whatsoever. Therefore, there has been some sort of oil added to the product which produces those additional calories. Chances are, it's not olive, grape, flaxseed, sunflower seed, or coconut oil.

Just eat the fruit fresh like it's meant to be.

They're a healthy snack for a normal diet, bad if you're on a strict diet.

When I'm cutting I eat these as a dessert, not really a between meal snack.

It is coconut oil. Coconut oil is not a good oil at all. It accounts for much, if not all of the 14 grams of saturated fat in the chips. People should aim to eat less than 25 grams of saturated fats in a day. 14 grams for just a snack is a LOT of saturated fat.

Hold on now, coconut oil is actually one of the better oils for you.

I'm remembering a medical study saying saturated fats aren't the end of the world either.

Fats aren't the enemy, sugar (and carbohydrates in general) is. Get with the program, people.

And coconut oil is one of the healthiest fats you can ingest. I love when people speak out their arse.
