How Many Gas Station Giveaways Did Your Family Use?

Shell brat here, my mom collected both of those, Rat. The steak knives were actually quite good.

The wife has a full set of American Sweetheart Depression Glass dishes. I think they were a gas station give away back in the day. I have no idea what they are worth. Many of the pieces sell for 10-12 dollars a piece. The serving bowl, platters, etc for much more than that.

They are pretty and we use them occasionally. Especially when we are eating fancy, like this:

Dad retired from Citgo where he started out designing gas stations (mainly odd lots left from other development like malls or road projects). My sisters are partially responsible for the 60’s honeybees logo Citgo used.

We don’t have much of the old giveaway stuff left after moving around and the maturing out of the house of the family but we used to have it all. Probably a couple of glasses from jars is about it.

As we’ve gotten older and infirm the cabinets are less full of collections and more current use stuff occupies the space.
