Wouldn't that be, by definition, Whole 90?

My docs suggestion on the BP was to Lower the Salt.

Just wanted throw out a datapoint. I do 4000-5000mg of salt daily while following ketogenic diet.

My BP dropped from 150/110 before eating this way, and now 110/70. So I don't fear away from sodium.
My HDL is 65, LDL 120 (NMR cholesterol test confirmed to be majority "large particles"), Triglyerides 47, A1C 4.4, Fasting Glucose 80.

My diet is basically steak, ground beef, caesar salads with grilled chicken, smoked/fried unbreaded chicken wings, cracklin, beef jerky, nuts, fibrous vegetables, and Irish Whiskey.

I am so confused by all of these diets. Some say don't eat certain foods that we grew thinking were good for you while others say eat plenty. Is there no real agreements on what is good and what is bad?

Most important thing is to find something you can follow and stick with. For me, it's keto.

It's been a lifestyle change, and I've eaten this way for ~2.5 years (1 year real strict, then lazy keto style maintenance). Lost 85 lbs in the 1st year and have kept it off.

If you BP was high before the weight loss and then lower after, your weight loss was the biggest factor in your blood pressure drop and not the diet change.

Without question, but as the poster above points out, my sustained healthy numbers defy conventional healthy eating thought (high sodium, high saturated animal fat diet, etc)

Yea there is agreement. If it's processed it's not good for you as it causes inflammation which in turn causes cholesterol to rise specifically ldl.

And what sounds horrible about whole30? That you can't eat processed crap and can't drink? Honestly what is so horrible about eating steak and asparagus for lunch, steak and eggs for breakfast and some grilled shrimp with veggies? Honestly you should do some soul searching if you think it's horrible sounding.

You asked for a diet for specific health results, whole 30 is that diet. If you don't want to do the diet, that's fine but it is the best diet for the results you are looking for.

Do not consume added sugar of any kind, real or artificial.
Do not consume alcohol in any form, not even for cooking.
Do not eat grains.
Do not eat legumes.
Do not eat dairy

And you should stop being such a condescending prick

How do you know what I am looking for?

I would take it slow. Oftentimes people crash because they go from eating carbs all the time to eating no carbs ever and their body freaks out.

First, I would fix my breakfast. For me, that means not eating sugar of any sort, and putting fats into my body. Today I had 2 eggs, some pork sausage and half an avocado. That keeps me full and gives me good fats for the morning. Start with breakfast.

Then, find a green veggie you like. Eat it twice as often as you do now. Eat broccoli once a week as is? Eat it 2-3 times a week.

The hardest part to me is being so strict all the time limits social opportunities. I sacrifice dropping weight "fast" for living life and going a big slower. I have dropped 50 lbs over the past 7 years or so in waves, and am currently at the lowest weight since high school.

Thanks for all the references and tips from everyone.

Certainly, I'm very guilty of junk food, and basically eating the best-tasting/least healthy things on any menu.

After 24 hours of brief research (and this thread), my first goal is to drop the junk carbs, and processed foods.

Today I had 2 fried eggs for breakfast. Ate out for lunch... pan fried fish with salad and green beans. An afternoon snack of half a dozen raw oysters. Some brisket and pulled pork for dinner.

Goal 1 would've been accomplished except for those 2 beers with the oysters. Baby steps?

Sorry I thought you were the OP.

But the diet is only for 30 days then you start adding in a little of the banned foods except sugar and grains and see what you can handle and what you can't. Yes the diet is hard but it does tremendous things for your health.

And as far as it being horrible because it cuts out all those things, honestly everyone should be trying to cut most of those things out anyways.

As far as being a prick, sorry just how I am. Gonna say it like it is and if it pisses people off so be it.

I haven't seen this mentioned yet:

Cut out the soda and beer. Drink water at every meal and between meals. An occasional beverage on a weekend is fine but get in the habit of drinking plenty of water. It makes a big difference.

Try the raw food diet. It helps detox the body, raise your Alkaline level and kills cancer cells. You don't have to become a vegan but as we get older we need to adjust our diets. Eat more veggies and fruits and do some light cardio to start.
