Only interested in live. Have some friends from work that want me to boil some for the group. Normally when I'm cooking for my long term friends, I put zero thought into size. However for some reason, I want to cook these yankees some larger ones. I live directly in the middle of Houston and willing to drive as far as SE TX if needed.

Preliminary research:
1. SE TX Crawfish farms
2. Ancelet's
3. Big Rich Courvilles
4. Doguets
5. Broussard's

#1 seems to pop up a lot and claim their getting 30-35lbs a sack. I could live with that. Trying to avoid the 40lb sacks.

For those of you living in Houston, my favorite place for boiled since last year is The Boil House in the Heights. It's a family from BR or NO. They also have Gambino's King cakes for Mardi Gras.

The Boil House and The Boot are the best in town.

Atchafalaya crawfish might be able to get you some in pearland. It's a guy I know from my hometown in Louisiana and they have a guy with ponds near Lafayette for sourcing I believe.

Is that the one that used to be Crawfish Xpress? I noticed the name change just recently. I've gotten them there before. I'll call them first since they're closer.

What part of the boot are you from?

Boil House hasn't opened yet this year, not sure if they will. HEB actually has really good size crawfish if you want them live. The boot and Cajun Stop boil them. I like the boot a little better.

I usually make the 2 hour drive to Broussard's if i need 3 or more sacks. They are clean and sorted out and I rarely have more than a handful of dead ones when I get started.

HEB has select/large.

They get them from farmers in La. They will be pricey but that's about the easiest place to get them in houston.

Jeff I'm from plaquemine. My cousin married his brother and have 2 shops in my hometown. This location was opened using the same resources. I'm not sure if it was a crawfish express honestly before, but it may have been.
