Have any of you been to The Francis in St. Francisville? How is it? Half of my family is in St. Fran and I don't believe it was there when I visited a year or two ago.
The menu looks pretty good. It looks like they serve the standard Louisiana fare. The menu is very Chimes like. It also looks like they do BBQ as well and have a separate smokehouse out back?
The restaurant itself looks incredible. Judging from the pictures, they really did a good job.

Beautiful restaurant.
The food is "okay."
The smokehouse next door is money.

It's okay. Not bad, not remarkable. The BBQ place they own next door is decent. Their brisket is dry and not that smoky tasting. But, their deer boudin is excellent.

The smokehouse is my go-to whenever I pass through there. I've only been to the restaurant once and enjoyed my dish but need to go back and try something else. My wife had the bbq shrimp and said it was ok but different than she is used to. The wait was 90 minutes the one time I went

I ate at the bar towards the end of hunting season. The raw oysters were as good as I've had this year (and I'm at Shuck's regularly). We had 3 apps after that, and all were pretty damn good. I mean, it's not Commander's Palace, but very good cajun fare.
...oh, and the wait was atrocious;
Have been to the bbq smoke house next door several times and I love it.

Ok but not memorable nor will it make you want to return on a road trip rotation.
