I'll try scoring, but it was evenly cooked. I has a heavily seasoned butter baste. Ends up just right after it cooks off a bit. They cook quickly overall. I think grilled reds on the half shell are gold. The flavor is terrific.

Looks awesome Gris. Can't imagine somebody thinking grilled red fish taste bad. Unless they just don't like grilled fish.

Masterpiece!

I think I could eat grilled reds everyday and it would never get old.

Oh yes. Not many fisheees out there better than red to me. I can think of a lot of them that I like but it really is hard to beat a nicely cooked red.

Googly, googly I would devour, but sparagurus is not to be get past the toothy point, butter, lemon and salt. I could be easily satisfied with a meal of sparagus alone. This is the time of summer in France when the veggies are getting to their peak points of freshness, so going head on veggie tarian should not be hard to do.

What fish native to LA is a better tasting fish from a grill?

I love redfish but the answer for me is Red Snapper

I'm excluding Tuna cause that's obviously #1

Reds are at times underappreciated by those of us that can get them, and are a jewel that if Yankees had access to them the stock would be vastly over fished. It was a good thing when the state started putting limits in place for it and other species.
