Ok I've been working near the courthouse in Gretna for a few weeks, and will be for a few more. I'm getting a little sick of Thanh Thanh, Courthouse Cafe, and Iron Gate Grille.

Suggestions?

Cafe 615 Home of Da Wabbit (VERY good)
Tan Dihn (VERY good)
Gattuso's (Great RB po poys, other stuff not so good)
Red Maple (good for after work drinks and specials...quarter raw and 50 cent char-grilled oysters on Thursday nights. AYCE king crab on Monday nights)
Common Grounds
Kingfish Grille (sandwiches - the cubano is really good)

O'Brien's Grill, one of the nicer more upscale places on the westbank (if you can imagine that on the westbank ) and the food is great also.

Edit: to say that it is located on Belle Chasse Highway in between Terry Pky and the westbank expressway.

I agree that O'Brien's is great..but if he's looking for lunch places while working at the courthouse in Old Gretna...he probably can't get there, eat and be back in an hour.

Very good and filling. They have a set menu for every day of the week.

La Fiesta Mexican Restaurant on Stumpf.

Good old school style (pre-immigration wave) Mexican place.

It's sort of a dump that I never see anyone talk about. Really good things like enchilladas and basic old mexican dishes. Sort of reminds me of El Rio Grande in BR.

I love Pupuseria Divino Corazon...but they are very slow during lunch. Worth the wait if you have the time!

Place isn't bad, but it's quite expensive. Especially compared to the Pupusaria on the Westbank.

It's located in a parking lot that also contains a Mudbug's storage facility.

Do I really need add anything to that??!!

Red Maple sucks too, but at least it looks cool on the outside when you're driving by it.

I did mention the westbank.

And I am from the westbank myself. Very deep into the westbank.
