You ragging on the guy because he didn't want to take pictures of his food in a restaurant? I wouldnt either. He still gave you a recomendation on a menu item there.

Although his description could have been better.

Going tomorrow night

For everyone: what else is must get on the menu right now? Have 2 people from out of town so want to impress them.

The Mrs has a fish allergy. Can eat shrimp, oyster & crab though. Best option for her?

About that combination of whole snapper with corn/butterbeans on the side, when we left the manager or owner (not sure which one but he was obviously the head man there) told me he had the same thing today and yesterday for lunch. So I kind of lucked out and obviously he thinks highly of it as well.

The only other thing I had was appetizers. Gumbo was ok, little darker roux then Acme. I thought the shrimp toast wasn't very good (had seen people recommending it on one of the review sites. Only time I have been so all I have.

The tartar is a must. If they have the baked drum with the mushroom broth, that is a big get as well.

The brussels sprouts are one of my favorite sides there as well as the cauliflower.

The last time I ate there I had a dozen raw oysters from zone 3 that were the best I have ever had.

This won't help your wife, but for starters, I go with the raw tuna dish, usually a crudo of some sort, and I also like the smoked fish app too. The oysters are always good but pricey. If you like a saltier oyster, see if they have Island Creeks in stock from up East. It's too bad you have to get a half dozen because I'd love to try one of each of what they have. They offer a basic boiled shrimp appetizer and I wish I knew how to make them at home the same way. They're always cooked perfectly.

For a main course I usually get the whole fish of the day, or a filet of something. One time they were out of whole fish so I ordered the filet which happened to be swordfish, and I really don't like swordfish but I settled anyway. It was awesome and the best swordfish I've ever had. Get the side of Brussels sprouts.

I've eaten there a dozen times and have never had a dish that I wasn't happy with.

If you can, my advice would be to go mid afternoon (they're open straight through) because at lunch and dinner they tend to get loud and very busy.

I love a ton of restaurants in New Orleans but the only place that I have to eat at almost every time is Peche.

Every meal I've had there has been great. Went last month. Headed there again in the next few weeks and really looking forward to it.

The tuna crudo is a must get every time I go. It changes pretty often, but it's always on the menu.
