Go to schobels in Columbus. Good small town home cooking. Chicken fried steak and chicken and dumplings type of place

Then go to buccees for dessert

There is a small trailer next to Oakridge Smokehouse in Schulenberg that has kick arse brisket.

Eta never mind, that place in schulenberg is good BBQ as well
