Zachary's in Kingwood is a go to place for me when I need a taste of home. They do all the basics pretty well. And the pork ribeye topped with etouffee is outstanding!

Bayou Seafood and Pasta is legit. Their pastas have some flavor. Forgot about that one.

I lol at the people who say Houston has zero good Cajun spots

It's the 4th largest city in the country and has over 12,000 restaurants

They have some, I've been. Sad thing most people only visit a few times and eat the chain places off the highways and judge a whole city by it

Guidry's in Deer Park is a good choice. Also Zachery's in Kingwood.

FWIW a few year's ago she was in some article about Houston's hottest chefs.

Cajun Stop has fallen off, unfortunately. Last time I went the gumbo was almost a gelatin. Haven't been back since.

Mozelle's was the best Cajun in Houston, but he just wasn't getting enough business. There was another good place out by the medical center that closed down as well. The food there and at Mozelle's was terrific, they just didn't have the fan fare of Ragin Cajun, BBs, etc.

Lafayette Seafood in Stafford is good. I've been pleasantly surprised by Gumbo Jeaux's. Esther's in north Houston is damn good.

I've never been. Wasn't trying to make a recommendation, just mentioning that it exists.

There are several good spots. He folks laughing and saying otherwise haven't eaten in Houston at the places listed in here.

You won't find a Juban's or Parrain's but there are some kick arse joints to enjoy.

I was getting ready to post about Zachary's in kingwood. Everything I have had here reminds me of home. Prices are decent, and they cater the LSU North Houston golf tournament very year, with good reviews.
