TB&E Express is legit and the king burrito for $5 is a steal.

The very first item listed under "Traditional Meals" are "chicken fajitas".

Definitely odd, I doubt I've ever seen anyone eat chicken fajitas in Mexico.

I think Izzo's is alright. It tastes great but the prices are ridiculous.

If you get the Super Felony you're basically paying $8 for a lot of rice and beans and four ounces of meat. If you go to a taqueria instead, you'll get a better burrito plus chips and salsa for only $5.00. Izzo's has the edge because it's so close to campus.

Speaking of relatively close to LSU, the new Ahuuas on Perkins at Essen (across from Taco Bell) is solidly mediocre.

la cabana on tiger bend by jones creek in the same parking lot as ralph's

I stopped by there the first week they opened, but haven't gotten around to eating there yet. There's a terrific place literally around the corner on Jones Creek (El Limon). So if I drive out that way, I end up just going to El Limon.

Went to Juanita's recently, now that it's under new ownership (and subsequently cleaner). The food is better, but they're still stretching out the barbacoa with filler from their butcher shop.

Tried the place out with one of those 10 for $20 coupons, and still felt as if I overpaid for what I got.

Waitress even asked if everything tasted Mexican?????

Whatever happened to that place on government that had the rediculously big burrito. (I don't remember exactly but i think they had a 5 lb burrito). It was in the same area where the smoothie king is.

So, what's the verdict? Apprently it's not Izzo's. But what's the consensus?

My buddy really likes La Tiendita on Siegen for burritos. I ate their tacos and they were good (never had a burrito there).

Before they opened the Perkins location, the owner mentioned that he was going to make the menu less authentic than the Jones Creek restaurant. FWIW, the Perkins location looks great, but I was surprised at how average the food was.

If you mean Government at North Foster, that was a Taco Del Mar. It didn't last long, the service was atrocious.

In my opinion:

Best Burrito: King Chicken Burrito at Tacos & Burritos Express on Sherwood.

Best Taco: Carnitas (pork) tacos at El Limon on Jones Creek.

Best Soup: Sopa de Res (Beef) at Mi Pueblito on Siegen.

Best Breakfast: Machaca plate at La Tiendita on Siegen.

T and B Express serves up cow tongue soft tacos, I'd say they're pretty legit for a Mexican place...and they do have the best burritos, I'd suggest the pork burrito
