I use to work for Gino when he owned Paparazzi's. He had many "shady" friends come in the back door, go straight into the office.
Plus, I believe Gino plead guilty and took a plea deal back in the 90's for some illegal video poker machines in New Orleans. He took the fall for someone higher.
