I have gotten him Hendricks in the past and he loves it. Also likes Citadelle.

Not interested in the Bombay, Tanqueray, Beefeater for this gift.

I guess I am looking for something special without it straying too far from a standard gin.

Monkey 47 if you can find it
Otherwise:
Uncle Val's Botanical
Uncle Val's Restorative

Something unique:
Boreal Spruce Gin

Good luck!

This and Martin Millers are on my list.

I will check out the Uncle Val's. Have not heard of it before.
Thanks!

If he likes Hendricks, The Botanist is fantastic.

More expensive than Hendricks (~$40) when I've checked at stores around town, but so good. Supposedly it is the "preference of mixologists".. whatever the hell that is supposed to mean. It has 5-stars on booze rating sites

I would throw in a bottle of Pimms as well. It seems most people outside of LA have never had a Pimms cup.

Thanks to all.

I got the Martin Millers Westbourne.

My local didn't have the Monkey and I got there before the other recommendations. Will look into Botanist for next time for sure. I know you are a gin sister LL.

Oh... not to be "that guy" but they are definitely appearing on more summer cocktail menus.

Before my last visit to NOLA, I wasn't aware of the Pimm's cup relation to the city. Definitely interesting!!!

I like the Bristow gin from the Bottle Tree folks. Same people who make Cathead. Its a very gin drinkers gin with more of the juniper and spice flavors than the floral notes of a Hendricks (which I enjoy as well). They also just released an aged gin but havent tried that.
