Looking for a decent place to have lunch on Thanksgiving with the family in the Gatlinburg area please. Willing to drive within 30 miles in any direction.
Save the pancake and trashy jokes for the OT.

I've had a week day lunch at the Mountain Lodge - pretty good, but I don't know if they are even open for Thanksgiving.

We'll be there next week also. Someone recommended to me Old Mill in Pigeon Forge. We thinking about trying that.

There is good food in the area, you just can't go to the tourist trap places like Old Mill and Apple Barn. That's just garbage frozen food.

The places I know won't be open Thanksgiving.

Can you give me some good suggestions for other places not on Thanksgiving?

I go there a good bit, the places I like most aren't open that day. I was going to go there next eek, but we went to LV last week instead.

There really aren't many great family dining places there.

Foothills Milling Company in Maryville
Buckberry Creek
Miss Lily's in Townsend for cheaper meals/sandwichses.

If you want to go big, Blackberry Farm.

If you expand the area to West NC, you start getting some really great stuff.

I wasn't super impressed. Slightly improved Cracker Barrel with a longer wait.

Nah. I'm not fond of dining around your type so I avoid places like that.

I've heard good things about Paula Deens Kitchen , I am sure they will probably have a Thanksgiving feast.

I enjoyed it when we went. It's family portioned entrees.

I could literally eat Pancake Pantry every day and never get sick of it.

I didn't care for Paula Deen's. Pretty crappy, actually. The best thing was the "free" cinnamon roll. Old Mill didn't impress me, either.

I will be there as well. There is an Apple Farm in Cosby, but I am not sure it will be open.
