While Nola isn't a "Cajun food" city, obviously #1 would be Cochon. Then KPaul's I guess.

Oysters can be had at plenty places, but Luke has a very good happy hour with oysters.

Dragos has the best charbroiled oysters. Period. Just don't get anything else there. Seriously.

Look at Mandina's for a nice, casual New Orleans meal up Canal . NOLA is good in the Quarter...not cheap but not really high end either.

So many great spots, but I'll offer up Atchafalaya for Sunday brunch. An earlier thread got it on my mind.

Avenue pub if he likes good beer.

August for dinner.

shite man, you have to give more specifications.

Wrong town.

K Paul's
Mr. B's
Cochon
Herbsaint

and lastly, Peche for seafood. This is the best new spot in town. Great food value, not overall dining experience.

Bon Ton will get him good crawfish bisque and etouffee, but hopefully he will want to try some other foods while he's there. Second the Peche recommdation.

For a good variety of the well known baked oysters like rockefeller, bienville and 3 others, along with shrimp remoulade, he could drop in the casual side of Arnaud's called Remoulade. It also serves oysters on the half shell, though I've never had them there. They oysters Arnaud are delicious.

Take him to The Three Muses on Frenchmen St. in the evenings for good food/drinks and authentic local live jazz. It's a gem I discovered 2 years ago. It's my favorite place to visit when I'm in town.
