Despite annual trips to NO for years, somehow my husband and I have never been to Jazz Fest. That ends this weekend!

I hear the food is fabulous...what are the can't miss items?

Oh, and if someone could fill me in on the dress at Herbsaint's, I would appreciate it. Reservations there Friday night! Going to be a great weekend!

I've heard of crawfish bread, but never had it. What is it?

I used to love the crwafish bread, now not so much. Obviously smaller and I find it to be greasy now.

I start each day with Cuban sandwich, then some pheasant quail and andouille gumbo, the meaty white beans and rice are good. THe oyster combo plate is great, raw oysters inside the track, cochon de lait poboy.Fresh cracklin is always a winner.

The rose mint tea is always good and the frozen coffee is good

I would recommend that you start your day early at Liuzza's by the Track with a bloody mary or a tropical punch. Then finish up there after the fest, always have bands playing and everyone hanging out...good times.

I've only been to JazzFest once. I got the cochon de lait poboy, which was awesome. I was full from that thing, but knew I couldn't go to jazzfest without trying the crawfish bread, so I got some. Also really damn good!

Stuff is delicious. One of the must haves if it is from prejean's.

Put yesterday's weather on a Saturday of Jazz Fest and I don't think it could get much better.

And bringing alcohol in is a must. They perform a very "cursory" bag search.

They don't do pat downs do they? I thought they just check purses/bags. What is changing this year?

I usually bring a backpack with a decent sized blanket and water. I put vodka in empty water bottles wrapped in the blanket.
