I love 5 Guys and could eat a burger there every day if it didn't kill me. Maybe the one in Lexington is better ran than the ones down there.

You want to talk about not taking pride in your food, but mention sonic & burger king?

Something's wrong.

I've been to 5 Guys in 4 different states. I'll admit it can be off and on. However, it is always hot & fresh, and that is a whole lot more than most fast food places can say. Sonic n BK are bottom tier

Place is way too high for a fast burger joint.

that burger was only good at 2am imo.

I don't understand the hate for Burgersmith. Other than the "soggy bun" guy.

Some tips about Five Guys:

-it is a step above fast food because they use slightly better/fresher ingredients and they cook your food to order. Don't go in expecting a gourmet burger.

-never get the single patty, always double.

-never get it to go, eat in the restaurant. By the time you get back home your burger and fries will be soggy.

-I grew up in the D.C. area where Five Guys was founded and several years ago the prices were cheaper so it was overall a much better deal

Is it really?? When the wife and I go, I seem to remember spending about 15 bucks for two. Granted we share one order of fries, they certainly do not skimp on the fries.

7.50 per person never turned me off. Especially food made to order. They may not be typical fast food, but you've got to admit they certainly are fast.

Especially when "value meals" are over $8 at most fast food places. I've found that Five Guys is usually around $11 for a double burger combo.

For a cheeseburger, fries and drink I remember north of $10. Sharing fries with someone helps of course.

I did think the burger is somewhat superior to most FF places.

Exactly. Every place except maybe McDonalds has upped their prices.

5 Guys here is pretty good. I don't get he double because I feel like shite after, and we always split fries. Our local manager is always coming in the seating area making sure things are OK.

I've had to go to Alexandria 4 times in the last 6 weeks and have eaten there every time I went and enjoyed it immensely. Also been to 5 Guys in other states and it's always been pretty consistent. I don't know what people expect when they go there but it's fresh cooked burger with fresh ingredients on a nice bun and fressh cut fries. How can you screw that up? My only gripe is that a double burger, fries and drink is $12.18 which is a litttle high but it's better than the usual fast food places.

Now you can probably get better burgers at some local places but for fast food it's pretty good.

Does anybody still eat at Burger King? That's just gross!

This must be why I see folks not ordering a drink, dumping out the cup that holds the fries and using it to get fountain drinks.

When I went, I ordered a hamburger, single patty which was about $5.50. Cheap, I thought. They asked if I want fries and drink, I said Yes, and the total was like 11 dollars.

I just don't think the place is that good
It does have a cute name, maybe that's why people are so diehard for it.
