First time at Festival International

Jazz Fest was kind of week so we are headed to Laffy....always wanted to go. Any veteran tips? Food, dinks, bathroom, ot baller tips etc? Literally just booked tonight under the influence of wine...so research will happen on the drive over.
Also thinking about cabbing it at the end of the night due to drinking.
Also pouparts, best stop, poches...any liquor store to hit up on the way out of town too? Wine and bourbon being the focus.
Picked Jolie brunch reservations...anywhere better or is there so much good food at the fest that we should eat there again?

Plenty of good food options and some bad ones. Crawfish bread bowl is a thing my wife always gets.
Port a potties are never too crowded (in comparison to jazzfest) and easy to find (practically every block on the side streets of jefferson).
You can bring a cooler or bag or whatever and bring your own beer. ***i have been told that they recently made it illegal to drink open containers in Laffy. A piss poor decision but I doubt it changes anything for the festival time.
Jolie's should be good. For boudin and quick sandwiches (pulled pork, boudin ball grilled cheese, etc) You might want to hit up Johnson's Boucaniere. It's downtown so you'll be in the area.

I'm a Nola guy, and never miss a trip to Lafayette without Johnson's Boucaniere. Parrain's Special (boudin ball stuffed grilled cheese) is my jam, but anything you get will be great. It's a can't miss.
I work for the Zurich every year, but if you rarely get to Laf, make sure to drop by Social on Johnston. Top notch booze with good food.
I would also suggest the Parish Brewing tap room in Broussard before you leave...may not have Ghost on tap this week, but still great pours.

Bon Creole from New Iberia usually has a food booth. Awesome poboys. Actually, there is plenty of awesome street food throughout the festival. Nearby restaurants and bars are usually open if you need a respite from the heat (as long as you're there to buy). Do you have a bag chair? It's always handy to have guaranteed seating carried with you.
Cabbing it in Lafayette can often be difficult. Uber will be available, a luxury cab service called SHOFA will be available, and Acadiana Transit will also be available. Your hotel might have info on those (SHOFA costs $23 for up to four people).

We were out there last night and had no problems with open containers.
The paella from Pamplona is always good and you can buy a bowl out on the street.
