I had this neapolitan milk stout this morning so I guess it was FBD.

I have most of my GR and IR from last year still as well.

I think I'm going to skip GR Day this year. No more BBrou to crash with, basically no hotels out that way, definitely no cabs/Uber, $200+ just for me to get tickets and the beer I want to buy..

I'm really being lazy when it comes to beer events this year (skipping Brew at the Zoo as well).

Was not aware it included a glass and 10 beers. Assumed it was basically a cover to get in. More reasonable now.

I don't think it's outrageous, it's a fair price. What they were charging the last 2 years was an absolute steal for consumers at $25. My complaint is that they used to give us unlimited pours of the flagship beers, but now those are included in the 10 beer tags (which, obviously, means nobody will drink the flagships), and raised the price by 60%. If they did away with the unlimited pours and only raised the price to $30, or just raised the price to $40, I wouldn't have any issue with it.

However, they told me that it's illegal to sell "all you can drink" beer. If that's the case, I can't hold it against them for not serving unlimited beer. However, I feel like they could have structured it differently. Ultimately, I love Parish and what they do, and GR Day is a blast, so I want to go. What I've complained about is a small gripe that got blown out of proportion.

so a few quick question

me and the wife might make a quick trip down to Laffy Saturday night

1) is the brewery a cool enough place to chill for an hour or 2? do they have TVs to watch some games?

2) where should we eat? I heard good things about Social

Why would anyone drink any of their flagships when they have all the one-offs?

Waste of time.

Also included in the price increase are more one-offs and the opportunity to pre-pay for your beers and a case of ghost.

Well worth it.

Does me no good when there are no cabs or Ubers. I was going to do the hotel thing last year, and BBrou is the one who told me I'd basically have no transportation there unless I knew someone who was going to GR Day and not drinking.

But still.. I don't want to add hotel stay on top of the cost. I'm poor

That's what he said last year when I said I was going to do that instead of taking up room at his place with all the people who were already crashing there. He told us there are no cabs out there. Hell, he laughed at me when I asked

Salmon, Social is awesome.

There is an active Uber driver in Broussard right now, and another half dozen in Lafayette.

Highly recommend Social. Cheese fries and gravy with beef cheeks and smoked fried chicken are money. Decent beer selection and a good bourbon selection.
