I'm providing lunch on both Saturday and Sunday for some friends who are working on their flood damaged house. The work crew will probably be six people, maybe 8. Sunday will be a big meal, roast, rice dressing, maque choux, etc., but I'm looking for sandwiches for tomorrow.

Places I'm considering are Rouses, Jason's Deli (chain, but good sandwich options), Joey's, HoneyBaked Ham, and maybe Pop's Poboys.

My hesitation with Pop's Poboys is those might suffer if it will take me 30 minutes to get the food where it's going. And I've never had Pop's, I'm going by what other people have said about their food.

Where do you pick up sandwich trays?

Well, you had a question mark, so I wasn't sure if you meant you like theirs or were wondering if I did!

You sounded contrite.... Like "maybe" meant "I aint going there".

But I do like theirs. They got a combo tray dats good.

I like their poboys, but I've never had a tray of them. The reason I was considering Pop's is because they offer some really interesting and different sounding poboys.

Hell, maybe I'll get a WalMart tray (I've actually had a good sandwich tray from WalMart.)

We used to get some from Joey's at an old job I used to have. They were awesome.

Olde Tyme is the best. I had some sandwich and po'boy trays from them at a party in Breaux Bridge and they were fantastic. Easily the best sandwich platter I'd ever had

My only other suggestion is Johnson's Boucaniere.

For that few people, you don't have to have a "tray" specifically. You could get a certain number of poboys, halved or ask them to be cut in 3 pieces or whatever and wrapped individually like they'd serve an individual sandwich. Then, if you want to bring them with you hot, load them into an ice chest which will keep them warm until you arrive at your destination. You could bring a tray with you and place them on the tray yourself pretty easily. That's just if you have some hot sandwiches, though. Cold won't matter.

Good ideas, Gris. Thanks.

Thanks to all of you who offered your opinions. I'm pretty sure there are a number of correct answers, I just need to make a choice. Yay for indecision and procrastination!

Exactly!

I bring hot foods in ice chests and those soft freezer bags all the time. They work well.

And the winner was ....drum roll....

Darla's Kitchen!

Did not put them on a tray or platter. Each sandwich in a zip lock, each variety in a larger zip lock together, marked.

Six roast beef and cheddar on honey wheat
Six ham and swiss on rye
Six turkey and havarti on honey wheat
Six turkey and cheddar on white
Six ham and (various) cheeses on white

All with mayo.

Included a bottle of yellow mustard for those who want to add it.

Included containers with lettuce, tomato, onions for those who want to add it. And salt and pepper for those who add the lettuce and tomatoes.

One jar of Vlasic dill spears.

One tray of cookies from Costco.
One variety case of Zapp's from Costco.

All delivered.

They are working pretty hard on their gutted house. I'm sure whatever time you want to show up, you'll be welcome.

Don't forget to show up tomorrow, too, for roast, rice dressing, maque choux, mac 'n cheese, cuke, tomato & red onion salad, and dinner rolls. I'm cheating on dessert and there will just be a big bag of chocolate candy.

(I know I should make something green for that dinner, but I'm probably not going to.)
