Just curious, this being my first year really getting into stouts.
Make sure you stock up on Ten Fidy. Great stout, and it comes in 12 oz. cans, which is the perfect size for a big stout, IMO.
There are a number of nice stouts down that way, but many of them come in bombers and that can be too much to enjoy by one's self...

Thanks Jax. I will see if I can find some around here.
Also for the stout drinkers, If I bought them at room temp and wanted to store them for say a month or so would that be ok or do they need to be in a fridge? Only reason I'm asking is because I;m living with the in-laws right now until my house is built and FIL loves to drink my shite up.

Won't bother them, as stouts are a beer that you can age, unlike IPAs, which are meant to drink fresh.

Didn't really know this about stouts. How old is too old for an IPA?

What is the board opinion of crown valley pumpkin ale and southern tier pumpking?
Those are already beginning to make the rounds. Thinking about trying them, I love pumpkin beers in the fall.

Bought a few 4/pks of Founder's Breakfast Stout yesterday. Never tried them before. New to the game as well

Drink one now, and cellar some for a few weeks/months. It gets better as it mellows. Currently searching for some of this years. Probably my favorite stout. Buy em up, they will last a long time in the fridge.

That's a Damn good question. I generally stay away from IPAs that are older than 3 months. Some IPAs maintain their "happiness" longer than other. It won't hurt you to drink an old IPA, but the hop flavor fades over time and the beer takes on a malty flavor.
I try to drink it as fresh as possible. I am careful about where I buy my beer. Bottleshops usually do a better job of keeping fresh beer on the shelves than supermarkets and gas stations.

I bought some Nooner yesterday. As much as I like Fall, I get sad knowing the Pils will be disappearing.

There are a few IPAs that "age" supposedly. I always try to drink them fresh. I bought this last weekend even though the batch was 12/2015 but bc its Brett and barrel aged, hopefully it'll keep. Gonna save it for a special occasion! But if it's more than a few months older I usually won't buy an IPA esp if it's not in a cooler.

Picked up a couple of '15 Pumpkinators at Colandro's today and also a pack of Evil Twin Soft DK. I have never tried aging beers myself. Should I stick them in the back of the fridge and forget about them or put them on a shelf in the closet?
