Buddy and I used to get Domino's delivered to our high school. Got caught and reprimanded but we kept getting it delivered. We'd just meet the guy out at the street

My high school made us go out into groups and do community service one day every spring. My group paired up with a bunch of kids from that orphanage on Carrollton to clean up trash somwhere out by Lake Pontchartrain. Lunch was always some shite bagged lunch so my friend and I ordered a bunch Domino's out where we were (in the middle of nowhere). We had enough to give the poor kids some too so it felt good. The teachers were fricking fuming though

One of my kids schools has Grimaldis delivered for the whole school on last Friday of the month. I don't even want to know what I'm paying for that.

My brother in law is a franchisee. The chain has really improved over the last 10 years. I'm a little concerned about this "pizza theater" direction that they're taking of trying to do dine-in. They're forcing franchisees to remodel for dine-in at pretty significant cost, and I'm not sure it's going to pay off. That being said, they've made a lot of good moves as a business over the last decade, so this one might work out as well.

Here's an article about the pizza theater concept: LINK /

How in the hell are they going to be able to make those changes in most existing locations? Seems like all of them were built to be as small and efficient as possible.

Yeah, I'm not sure that they'll be able to in a lot of the strip mall locations. There's just not room. I know he's having to retrofit a couple of his locations, though to varying degrees. I think the main thing is exposing the kitchen to people can see the pie being made and then having some seating areas. I think they're really trying to push it in their more urban markets to try to capture the whole "grab a slice" feel of a NYC pizzeria.

This article is more recent and says that all locations will be remodeled for the "pizza theater" concept by 2017.

Personally, I think it's a money grab by corporate to make their franchisees invest in the remodels (with all materials and such purchased by franchisee from corporate).

Their crust has way to much garlic flavoring. Can't get the taste out of my mouth for about 2 days after eating it.

Well I know you are protestant.

Chicken habinaro sandwich is awesome. Pair it with their spinach and feta breadsticks and you're done.

Definitely the best of domestic pizza. 5 years ago I never thought I'd say that.
