Domenica Pizzeria on Magazine last night

First time at the new location. I liked the casual/hip atmosphere. Music was on the loud side with an interesting mix of Dr Dre, Lil Wayne, and the Pretenders. The line was almost out the door but the bar had to available seats. I asked a waiter if we had to wait or could just sit at the bar and he said we could skip and take our seats. Good thing to know next visit. Very nice bar. Lighting was dim but bright enough to read the menu. Began with the famous roasted cauliflower. So so so good. I added some oil to each bite as I dipped in the whipped goat spread. This is a meal in itself. Second we split the tutto carne (meat lovers) pizza with the three dipping sauces. I like the idea of having something to dip te crust in. Red sauce and whipped cheese was my fav. Pizza was good but wished I had ordered the carrot pie. All my friends rave about it. To end te meal we had a sweet banana treat served in a mason jar. Essentially a fancy banana pudding with banana but bread as the bottom later. Delicious. To note, the draft selection is small but solid. There is a large bottle and can beer list including a range of Italian brews other than peroni and morretti. Not sure if they have a happy hour. Didn't seen anything on the chalkboard or menu about it.

No happy hour yet, but they are working on it.

Agree 100% about the Cauliflower. Can easily feed 3-4 people as an app and it's amazing.
I had the Carrot pizza without beets, and dear God it's perfection on a slice. Everything is so fresh and the ingredients all accentuate each other. The hint of mint was brilliant on the carrot pizza.
My service was meh to say the least when I went. The bartender who served me was a complete idiot. No silverware, no water. Really slow and just seemed incompetent. And I was there at 10pm on a Tuesday when it was only half full. I'll go back for sure as the food is 5-stars but I hope they get the kinks worked out with service.

I had a similar experience with the service

Was curious about that; isn't everything 1/2 off during the original Domenica location's Happy Hour (1/2 off pizza, drinks, apps, etc.)? I hope the Uptown location gets a Happy Hour soon.

The service when I went there was great but I went for lunch.

1/2 off of pizza and drinks--definitely a good deal if you're going on a date or with a group of people...I really want to try the Roasted Carrot pizza; I've had the Tutto Carne, Margherita, and White pizzas before and they were all delicious.

Do you mean Domenica or Pizza Domenica? Because I was there last week and they didn't have their Happy Hour specials going yet. I asked them why and they said they were still trying to work out what the special was going to be.

I was referring to Domenica.

anyone know what time they close tonight?

Open 11-11 7 days a week.

Went tonight, love the place. Had the calabrese pizza & garlic knots. Chocolate buttermilk cake for dessert.
Service is quick so it almost feels rushed. But went later so it was kind of empty, love the 90's music though. Good vibes

Sounds like a great addition to the area and a venture which will be a success.

Thanks; will have to check it out. Does it have more of a casual vibe compared to the original location (especially since the food menu is strictly apps, pizza, & dessert)?

Absolutely.

Are reservations necessary?

the decor is pretty nice, it kind of puts of a more upscale vibe, its very casual once inside. the music pretty much dictates that. People were in Tshirts and a few even had hats on. It was 9pm on a sunday night though.

Lester, that's par for the course in my experience. Granted I've only been there once and it was a Wednesday night around 6:30, but it was very casual.
