Does it piss you off when people are close minded about trying new foods?

A few days ago I picked up a tongue burrito from one of the mexican joints on Siegen. Talked about how good it was at work with some of my co-workers and one of them was just disgusted by it and said he would never try something like that. Do people like this grind your gears? For some reason they really grind mine.

I just feel sorry for them

They have people on here that act like cultured foodies but when a lot of foods are brought up they always say they don't eat that

My wife won't try anything. If she is on business she will talk about things they ordered and how good it was.............then wont try it again just because its...........lets say..........octopuss.

So she actually tries it
Decides it was good
but then won't eat it again?

Lets never go eat together

Yep.......she does it so she's not the "weird" one at the table when on business trips.

The people I'm referring are the opposite. These people just stick to the simple foods and don't even attempt to act like they are cultured foodies.
I understand that eating/cooking isn't a "hobby" like it is to others but I still don't understand how people just aren't willing to even taste things sometimes.

Nah, people here have said the same thing before. The general consensus (which I've come to agree) is to just not let it bother you. They may have been raised differently and may also just not care about food in the same way you do. It doesn't affect you.
The only time someone's dislikes ever bother me is when they have an attitude. Don't look at something and say "OMG sick!!!!" And make barfing noises. grow up.
But to politely not want to stray from your comfort zone is something I try to remember to respect.

It doesn't really bother me because their being close minded isn't really hurting anyone. I have family like this. I'd probably be a little aggravated if they try to insinuate that I'm disgusting for being open to all foods.
I will try almost anything (food related) once. If I enjoy it, I don't care if I'm the only one. Unlike so many people, I don't think sushi is the greatest thing ever.

I have better things to get upset over than this, IMO. It only really bothers me if I cooked it and they refuse to try it.

Don't get it but doesn't bother me.

The only time it bothers me is if it's someone I'm dating, because it limits places we can go out to eat. If I go to eat, I usually want to eat something I don't/can't make at home. But if the whore I'm seeing only eats 5 things (and it's all shite I/she can make at home) and doesn't deviate, I get pissed because I miss out a lot of the time.
In general, if other people's eating habits don't affect mine, IDGAF.

It doesn't bother me. I don't really get all that upset by what other people do or don't eat.

It will annoy me if it means that a list of places to eat are thrown out the window

I feel your pain. I hear the ..ewww this potato salad has something crunchy in it, yuch,...and I want to hand them a McRib so they'll be happy.
"Does this have onions it it, I don't like onions".
"this pate taste like liver, liver is yuchy".
Burn them alive with a blow torch.

What bothers me is if someone insists you try something that you've already tried before and after you've told them "I've had that already, not a big fan" they say something along the lines of "Oh but you've never had THESE before, they're much better."
I don't like oysters. I don't know why. I've tried to like them. I've given up. Almost every time I go to a seafood restaurant I have to have the above conversation about them.

Well, you're just nuts man.
Just kidding, I'm exactly the same way with sushi.
