They opened up last week I believe. They are in the old Wayne's BBQ location. I think they have other locations around Hammond.

Yep, unfortunately. They kept Mr. Wayne's booth in tact apparently. That's pretty awesome of them to do that. Wayne's was a staple in that area for a long time. I'm probably going to check it out tomorrow and I'll check back in.

I love the one in Independence. They have a Ponchatoula and Hammond location also.

Ate it last week. Brisket sandwich had no flavor, no smoke just meat with sauce that I could’ve made in a crockpot. Honest truth. The fries weren’t good either.

They were slammed last week and I get it with it being their first week, I’ll try again at some point, but not anytime soon.

It should do well since Wayne’s was unsanitary and mediocre at best.

It's a good and bad thing at the same time that people around here are finally developing a palate for good BBQ. Just wish we could get one closer to BR area.

Ate at the one in Hammond. Would not recommend. No seasoning on the meat whatsoever, sauce was super ketchupy and ribs were way overcooked. One of the bones they gave me was the very last bone on the thin end of the rack. It was charred to nearly a crisp. Ask if they sell lean and fatty brisket. They said yes. Asked for fatty, gave me lean.

Then it was one slice that they broke three times and put it on the plate...like I'm getting three slices. Like I don't know a slice of brisket isn't 3 inches long...lol.

The best thing I ate was a side. I think it was the cabbage. But everything else was so forgettable that I don't even remember that.

had it last night after ball practice.

i lived in livingston for 10 years and ate waynes a handful of times. growing up waynes was great but before it closed it was terrible.

i got the dinner for two. the pulled pork was excellent, the ribs were tender and had good flavor. the chicken was good but a tad dry. the brisket was okay, may have been old but wasnt that great. granted it was almost 8 at night before closing. the sides were great, the beans and potato salad.

I will for sure try it again, maybe get the sandwiches.

Waynes was pretty rough the last few times I went. It was looking like it was in the “end stages” for a while.

I hadn't eaten at Wayne's since probably 2019. I'm not sure why. I pass it constantly. I always liked Wayne's. I hate to hear it declined in quality and closed.

The Hammond location?

We got there around 12:30 for lunch. One other couple in the place.

Exactly. Salty Joe's is way better. I hear there's another BBQ place too. We'll hit it up in the near future I'm sure.

We went today and we got the 2 meat combo plates. One with ribs and pulled pork, the other with brisket and pulled pork. We both got bbq beans and potato salad.

I thought it was pretty good. I really have no complaints. It's not the best bbq I've ever had but I'll definitely be back.

I was closer to the SNAP in Ponchatoula today, so I decided to go there for the first time. I didn't realize that the BBQ Station was in the same strip mall. I got a 1/4 pound of pulled pork and baked beans after I worked out to simply sample it. It's not Gonzo's or Koal's, but it's good.

salty Joe’s is OK not great by any means but we like to eat there it’s a cool place to eat outside. The best BBQ in Hammond is the take out place on the south roundabout at the mall exit, across the street from punjabi dhaba. Take out only and very good
