Does anyone have any input as to where to get alligator meat?

Been having an itch to try my hand at blackened gator, stir fry, salads, etc.

So the result will all be bite sized pieces (so it doesn't have to be large filets).

BR

Semi frequent trips to Laffy, New Orleans, and Amite.

So wide range to work with.

I get loads of shrimp from this giant factory in Henderson, I'm sure they have gator. I'll get the name for you.

The words "giant factory" makes me wonder if they sell consumer portions.

Sounds like a nice place to get a few ice chests of shrimp but I don't want 300 dollars worth of gator

ask your local seafood market, or even local grocery store they can get it for you pretty easy

Tony's keeps it in stock

If you ever head down LA 1 I could help you out. Adams Fruit Stand always has it, they in Matthews. I get cheek meat during wild alligator season. Closer to Baton Rouge you can get it from B&C Seafood in Vacherie/Wallace area right near the foot of the veterans memorial bridge. You could probably get it at fishermans wharf in Kenner on Williams as well.

LA Boilers on Perkins near bluebonnet used to carry it.......frozen. I've had it and it was fine.

I believe Restaurant Depot in New Orleans carries Gator meat. Can't comment on the quality, but its a great store for many other items.

I think the last time I purchased some from Tony's it was around $10/lb. I'm not sure if they are farm raised or there is a gator season, so I dont know if price fluctuates.
