I like to make dirty rice with onion, bell pepper, celery, ground sausage and finely chopped chicken livers (hard to find pork liver regularly here) from time to time.

Is rice dressing the same thing, or something else?

Do you have anything else that you add to what I use for dirty rice (besides chicken gizzards) that put it over the top? TIA.

to be honest i'm not really sure what the hell dirty rice is.... i'm from acadia parish and we always made rice dressing. i'd assume maybe the dressing is more wet?

if you are using chicken livers, ground beef, ground pork and a few other things then thats basically a dressing mix recipe. it sounds like you make rice dressing. I generally cook a dressing mix down with a few lbs of ground beef/pork... with onions etc. I add my rice and water and let it all cook together. good shite

If there is a distinction, I think that dirty rice will haver liver and other organ meats as opposed to a dressing with only ground meats.
