Heading to NoLA this weeeknd and looking for good reccs on places to have nice dinner and dance. Is Frenchmen the best area or anything closer to CBD to check out? Been many times but first adult weekend in a while. TIA

If you just want to do some old style old people dancing, go see Jeremy Davenport at the Ritz.

I think there is a small jazz club kind of place in the Royal Sonesta.

All the clubs on Bourbon have music and dancing, but you will be in a fight in five minutes with some trash trying to grab your ole lady's arse.

Hustler has a nice buffet and pole dancing. If that's not to your liking then you could always hit the Oz.

Yeah, are you looking for like a club or something, or ballroom dancing?

My bad gentlemen, should have been clearer in original post. Couples dancing, ballroom, jitterbugging, country western, classic rock. Preferable not "clubbing scene" as a little beyond that stage LOL!!

The Davenport Lounge at the Ritz is probably your best bet.

I'd suggest Frenchmen Street for music: the Spotted Cat, DBA, Blue Nile.
If you want a restaurant near Frenchmen: Italian Barrel on Barracks and Decatur, Adolfo's on Frenchmen or Tujaque's on Decatur.
Just walk down Decatur and cross Esplanade to Frenchmen, you'll have a good time. Check out the R Bar and Mimi's in the Marigny. Just be careful walking late night.

Ok. just saw the "clarification" of Couples dancing, ballroom, jitterbugging, country western, classic rock.
Mulate's is probably what you're looking for.

Never heard of it, but I must say it looks fun. Is everyone over 70? I'm in my thirties and would love to drag my husband there.

I've never been to that location, but Cajun dancing is fun at any age.
