I hear what you are saying but 1/2 an avocado has twice as many calories as a whole apple.

Satiety also has to be taken into account

An avocado is full of healthy fat and will give you a lot more energy than a sugary apple

High carb foods tend to make you hungrier. I guess it all depends on the individual but I consider most sweet fruits about on par with candy when it comes to nutritional value.

If you are talking about an overall healthy eating plan, I agree with you, but at the end of the day, more calories are going to put the weight on you.

One apple=95 calories. One avo=360 calories.

This is why I do weight watchers. The program is designed for you to eat whatever you want as long as you eat 5 servings of fruit and vegetables, drink 6 cups of water per day, eat 2 servings of healthy oils and stay under your point totals.

So I can have an apple for 0 points or an avocado for 9. Sure it's good for me, but I won't lose weight eating many of them.

We are somewhat on the same page, but this thread is about weight loss, not healthy fat and which foods are better for you.

It is true. I love avocados but one has 300 calories and leaves me hungry. I can eat a whole tube of guac

You can have all the healthy fats you want but you will gain weight if you're over your calories for the day

At the end of the day it's all about calories vs calories out

Yo Albert,

My tip to you is to keep things simple!!! Losing weight is the easiest thing to do in the fitness world. Its pretty simple its basically how much calories are eating and how much you can burn. There's no such thing as a healthy or unhealthy dieter (restricted dieting). Just be a smarter eater, don't get caught up with the non-sense of good fats and bad fats ( fat is fat when you are trying to lose weight).

Here is a few things that can help you be successful
1. read this article
LINK /

2. get the app myfitnesspal to keep track of what you are eating.

3. get a digital food scale!!! to know exactly how much you are eating!!!

If you have any questions ill be more than happy to help you!!! I was able to lose 57lbs in 12 weeks (results may vary from person to person) and I am currently helping 8 people reach their fitness goals.

Avocado fat is off the charts. Horrible food. The purpose of the apple is not the sugar intake. It's negligible with only 1 apple. Perhaps you would choose to eat 20. Bad idea. The purpose is to expand the stomach through pectin. You have no idea what you're talking about.

Simply put... Are abs more important than ice cream...

The better question to ask is, "Is the pussy I might be able to reel in as a result of having a six-pack more important than ice cream?"

Depends on your macros. I've lost substantial weight taking in about 130-150g of fat per day.

Some people can't stand it, but I know a lot of people who have had their lives changed and lost weight and kept it off successfully for the first time through it:

Check out Intermittent Fasting. If you're having a hard time dealing with cravings it might not work for you. I will say that if you learn to fast successfully you'll realize that a lot of our "hunger" is nothing more than boredom and conditioning.

For me, IF works best because I'm an all or nothing guy. Once I start eating, I like to really eat and eat what I want. In other words, I'd rather eat one badass meal with whatever I want in it for a day than have some oats in the morning, a crappy turkey wrap with celery at lunch, then have another restricted meal at supper.

Obviously you know your stuff about macros, and you know what works for you. I was just trying to keep it simple to help someone who is new to macros. How else would you tell a person new to macros about fat?

I hear you. Just saying, there's certainly several different ways to go about dieting. Going low carb, high fat, moderate protein (keto, specifically) has worked wonders for me. Very easy to follow once adapted and it's become a lifestyle for me (8 months in)
