My take on Barbie150's posts is that they are meant to share the positive dining experience at this new restaurant. I liked their food, and certainly eager to spread the word so other people can get to try a good place.

The eateries on Bennington have been a hit or miss. Semolina used to do very well there for many years until they changed their decor; the daiquiri joint that came in didn't last too long. Komado's did well there until the original owners(also own Hunan on Sherwood) sold their restaurant to someone else; whatever that came after that had been so-so.
My family had been a big fan of Marinas when it was there; however, their business has always been lukewarm, maybe due to location (or proximity to the Station!). I think Parsley & Pepper is quite decent, and people should try it. Hope they succeed.

Went there a second time.
Tried their lemon chicken soup (Greek). Decent, tasty and not too sour chicken soup. Uses macaroni instead of rice which the Zorbas previously on Perkins Road served.
Decided to try their Salmon Shish Kabob: the fish is nicely grilled with zucchini on sticks: slightly seasoned , tasty and not overdone. Pretty happy with my choice. Had the salmon with grilled potatoes and mixed veggies as the two sides.

Being foodies, we tried to sample as many as we can on our first visit.
Hummus: to me it is the best hummus I've had in this town! Texture and taste is different from a lot of what you get in the multitude of Lebanese restaurants in BR; it is fresh tasting and pairs up well with their nice fresh and soft wheat and white pita bread.
Stuffed Grape Leaves: very tasty and substantially meat filled, also quite unlike of other meat stuff grape leaves I've had elsewhere in town. Also loved the taste of their Grecian sauce.
Lentil Soup: they use the brown colored lentil beans which were not ground up or mushy like other lentil soups I had tried . Nice balance in the taste.
Combination Chicken Shawarma and Gyros: excellent tasting . Chicken was moist inside. We chose the grilled mixed vegetables and grilled asparagus which were nicely done.
Steak Shish Kabob: can taste Worchester sauce used in the marinate. Beef was of good quality and tender. Will try their grilled potatoes as one of the sides next time since they grilled the veggies so well.

The place has a nice clean simple decor with a simple menu and relatively inexpensive food. The chef is friendly and knows his food. I think this place deserves a lot of recognition as I think they deserve it.

I can tell by reading this that English is not your native language. Also, congrats on your new restaurant.

Sounds like it's nice, fresh, and soft and also pairs well with hummus. Being foodies, I think we can all agree that this sounds like a nice, soft, and fresh pairing.

Recommend trying this place! You have nothing to lose at this simple , inexpensive eatery.

If you look at Facebook and Yelp, there are many consistently favorable reviews.

And for the skeptics, you don't know what you are missing!

Has it been established that this guy owns this place?

It sure looks like it.
I don't understand why these people think they are going to come here and post stuff like this and not have people figure things out

All they have to do is come out and say you own the restaurant. Then ask everyone to give you a shot. It really is not hard

So I decided to try this place out for lunch today. It’s near my office, and I wanted to compare it to my go to for Lebanese, Albasha, also near my office.

Ordered the gyro plate, which came with two sides and Grecian sauce for $9.59.

Pros:
- All kidding aside, the pita here was excellent. Most places, the pita is more of an afterthought. Here, it was served quartered and stacked. It was fluffy, and warm with the slightest hint of toasted crunch on the outside. Not crunchy, just a hint, presumably from being grilled briefly?

- Hummus was very good.

- Gyros was done nicely. Slightly thicker cut than some places, and not wet. Not dried out by any means.

- Service was very friendly and attentive.

Cons:

- No salad. Where’s my Greek salad with feta?

- Portion size. I got significantly less gyro at the same price point than Albasha. Seriously, probably half as much. I didn’t leave hungry, thanks to all the pita, but I’d give up some of the pita in exchange for more gyro.

All in all, it was a good experience. Staff was friendly, the place was clean and looked nice inside. It was quiet, but there were only a handful of customers. I’ll probably go back to try some different things since it’s nearby.

I am glad that you went and tried the food.
Like your balanced review.
Your point about the gyros portion size is well taken; maybe you can make that point by posting on Facebook for the owner to take note of (I know the owner checks on the Facebook posts).
BTW, I can never understand why there are readers in the forum who are fixated with the idea that I am the owner, just because I put out an enthusiastic positive review. Pretty poor form for people to trash a review by trying to discredit the reviewer.

Don't let it bother you, this board is usually more preoccupied with "the best burger in BR" or what new chains are opening, than actual food, signs of young and dumb. My favorite beer is best, yours is dishwater and "and it isn't close" is popular too. There are better food boards around that aren't insult filled, I only check this one occasionally from insomnia.

So you know the owner's habits about checking Facebook but aren't the owner?

So you're a stalker?

Yeah, I talk with the owner when I went the second time. Told him about the other positive reviews on Yelp, and that is when he told me there are more reviews/comments on Facebook. As simple as that! As a new business owner, it is obviously natural that he has to check on customer feedback making sure he is doing things right, and to improve on his product. He is up front as you can also see in Facebook that he thanks some of his reviewers.

He stands on his own merits. He doesn't have to resort to tactics of posting fake reviews to drum up business, like some other posters have suggested. So much for the conspiracy theories and condescending insults....

If you aren't the owner (doubtful) then you work at this restaurant or are related to the owner in some way. No one is that enthusiastic about a restaurant they have no stake in.

I don't think the owner knows about the Food/Drink forum in Tigerdroppings. So, I doubt he had seen this thread.

Well, first of all, I am a food addict and appreciates good food. Don't we all get excited when we eat something that hits the right spot? So, when I tried this place, it was refreshing to know that this new place is serving fresh and quality Mediterranean food that is somewhat different from the myriad of Lebanese places in town. I find most Lebanese restaurants serve similar tasting food, including their pita bread, with Albasha being my favorite. Knowing the history of mediocre flow of clients thru the previous establishment at this location, i.e. Marina's, I know they would need enough exposure for people to know them, so that they can judge for themselves whether this place deserves their business. The place has a friendly atmosphere, and I find the owner quite nice. That is why I am enthusiastic about this place, wishing that they can succeed when a lot of similar establishments in their immediate surrounding fail (see my earlier post).

If you still doubt the authenticity of this post, all you need to do, if you care to, is to go the Facebook page of this restaurant, and comb thru the many consistent reviews that they received from many other different clients. They can't possibly all be working for this restaurant or related to the owner, not to mention having any financial stake in this place.
