I tried it Friday. Clearly a rip off of Canes but I was satisfied with it. Fries and fish were great.

I keep hearing that. How can a restaurant with completely different food be a "ripoff"?

I agree. Silliest comment ever. Fried (chicken, seafood, etc) was around LONG before Raisin' Cane's existed; that spicy mayo-y sauce has been around in various forms since at least the early 60s (seafood sauce, come-back sauce, various other names). Why would anyone but an eight year old think that Cane's had actually "invented" anything?

I don't mean ripoff in a negative way. I like what they are offering.

If you take a Canes box combo and change the chicken to catfish, and texas toast to hushpuppies, you have the crispy catch box combo. Also, Crispy Catch's "reel sauce" shares an identical taste to Cane's sauce.

sorry. I got the fish tacos. They were pretty damn good but the portions were very small. If anyone here thinks Cane's portions are small for the money, get ready to get arse raped at Crispy Catch.

The tacos were served in a flour tortilla with cabbage and 1 catfish strip about 4 inches long. they were topped with what appeared to be Cane's sauce and served with a side of hushpuppies and a green dipping sauce.

My first impression was that my box was very light for $9.80. Indeed it was as I am still hungry. Didn't take pics but all had a good appearance and was very good tasting.

Hopefully it's the exact same boudin balls as Tony's... those things are like crack.

On second thought, hopefully not.

I think they're saying same business model. Chicken joints have been around forever, but I think most would agree that Raising Cane's has a different business model than, say, Popeyes. It doesn't offer an array of sides or other types of chicken items. Just tenders. And tenders on a bun. Fries, slaw, toast. That's it.

This place offers three different entree choices, but the only side items are hushpuppies, fries, and slaw. That is very similar to Canes offerings.

That mayo sauce may have been around forever, but most chicken restaurants offer an array of sauces and don't claim any of them as a flagship "signature" sauce.

Not bad. Why'd it take so long to get your food?

Sure, but Cane's has the same model as Zaxby's, which predates Cane's by at least six years. It's pretty much a total ripoff of Zaxby's, right down to the Texas toast, coleslaw, crinkle cut fries, and crushed ice.

I was using Canes/Zaxbys interchangeably. Almost wrote that out, but said screw it.

Point being they have a different business model than most other FF joints.

This place only offering 3 items and the same sides with every item is very Canes/Zaxbys-esq. I don't think people were saying it is a bad thing (although for me it would be if someone wanted to go because I have no interest in the three items they offer).

Then why in the hell are you posting in this thread?? You don't like fried fish and/or hushpuppies yet you claim to be a 'Louisiana Lady'?? Something is wrong with you...

Firstly, I did not say I do not like them.

Secondly, I did not create my username. It was changed years ago without my input.

Thirdly, I am in this thread because I was under the impression that a restaurant owned by Tony's would offer shrimp, oysters, sandwiches, etc.
I only read yesterday or so that it is not the case.

Plenty of people post in threads about restaurants they're not fans of. Last time I checked, this was not a "only say positive things" website.
