From a couple of different suppliers/farmers this is what I'm seeing.

I know you people are always asking.

$1.50 to the farmer
$1.75 to the wholesaler
$2.00 and up for most retailers.
It will probably stay around that price through Easter.

Plan accordingly.

Also, don't eat the straight tails. They can kill you.

You can tell these “dead” crawfish because they have straight tails. Throw ‘em out.

*Sarcasm isn't appreciated in thread.

Remember to throw in some seasoning on them right after cooking

And always purge with plenty of salt. Really want to clean them out with the salt.

You fellas have no clue what y'all are talking about. The salt isn't for purging, it's to get a nice salty digestive track before they're boiled.

Any idea what they're going for boiled at most places around BR and Gonzales? Wife is out of town and I'm flying solo for a few nights. She doesn't like crawfish so I may go enjoy them somewhere.

The french are fans of sauteing whole crawfish.

Tee Waynes on Hwy 621 just west of the RR tracks. I think its about $20 for 4 lbs with corn and potato. I hear they're the best around. Place has been slammed on weekends the last month or so.

Not true. Can't believe people still fall for the 'purging' myth.

Ha! Purging has been scientifically proven at all of the top research institutions. Myth you say?
