For beginners, we'll start with the only pic of a Satsuma Old Fashioned I have. I'll improve this later.

Not a single piece of fruit on any of my trees. Had a ton of flowers and then, they disappeared. Two years ago, the lemon, lime and orange trees were damaged by the freeze. No fruit on them last year, but my satsumas were loaded. This year, no tree has any fruit. I'm hoping they come back. They're nice and green and leafy. I'm so sad.

Do they have thorns in several places? If so, they have reverted to type stock, not good.

You should be able to see a graft line right at the base of the tree, and all branches should be above that.

I'll have to look. My orange and lemon trees have always had some thorns.

I have more lemons than satsumas this year. The satsumas I do have aren't even turning orange yet.

If I had any satsumas, they wouldn't be ripe for at least another month or longer. Usually around Thanksgiving.

First frost is the usual benchmark, these happen to be a little early.

Mine usually aren't ready until mid December here in Broussard.

My satsumas, Meyers, Louisiana sweets and navels are loaded, but my blood orange has no fruit. I also lost a lime tree to the freeze 2 winters ago and need to replace it. I miss the fresh margaritas.

Damn brah, these came from the same parallel, you need to talk to your trees about under production

All my fruit is still green in BR, one tree is not producing though. Does anyone have any advice on getting rid of leaf miners?

There's 2 different varieties of satsumas out there. One ripens earlier than the other.

Mine are mostly yellow/orange (some could be picked, I suppose), but they were a lot tastier in November and December last year, so I'm going to wait.

Also, It looks like my three trees have only produced about half what they did last year.

I muddle for Satsuma Old Fashioneds.

Peel the rind with a potato peeler
Squeeze the juice of one slice
One cherry
Angostura Bitters
Dash of simple syrup
Ice
Rye (or Bourbon)

That pic was probably a few years ago. I'll have to update this afternoon.

my favorite fruit of them all. Easy to peel and tastes great.

Wondering, has anyone ever made a satsuma pie?
