The guys from City Pork and Southfin are involved with Red Stick Social, an entertainment venue that will be built at the old Entergy site on Government Street. It will feature a bowling alley, live music, private space for parties. There will also be a pizza parlor/microbrewery there.

By moving closer to the 'hood.

They better put up some tall, sturdy fencing topped with razor wire if they expect this place to make it.

Anything on that side of town like this will slowly fade just like everything else. The money will stop showing up.

You wouldn't go to Government St at night? Some of you people are beyond ridiculous.

Some depressing comments in this thread

How do you think gentrification happens and areas get better?

Government street will look completely different in ten years (just like Nicholson).

Yeah, but that location is on the wrong side of Park Blvd. Going East from Park you have the Garden Dist. and a better neighborhood.

Bowling alley, bar, entertainment district. That sounds like a PERFECT spot for loitering.

The traffic study showed that there was already a problem of a lack of capacity even at 4 lanes, so it's been basically scrapped between Jefferson and I-10. It's still being considered for the stretch between Lobdell and Jefferson.

Brian is waiting until construction costs settle back down post flood insanity.

Seems reasonable.

If that's all it is, then it would be a great get for that area.
