The owners of the homegrown company that owns the three City Pork restaurants as well as Southfin Southern Poké are parting ways and dividing their holdings.

As part of the split, City Pork Kitchen & Pie on Exchequer Boulevard will be closing.

Stephen Hightower and Trey Williams say their split was amicable but that each had different ideas about where to take the rapidly growing company.

“We just got to a point where I was passionate about City Pork and Trey wanted to take Southfin to the next level,” Hightower says. “We couldn’t do both.”

Under the terms of the deal, Hightower kept the City Pork restaurants, which include City Pork Deli & Charcuterie on Perkins Road and City Pork Brasserie & Bar on Jefferson Highway. Williams took Southfin, a new restaurant concept that opened in the Southdowns Shopping Center in March. City Pork Kitchen & Pie—the newest of the three City Pork establishments—was a casualty of the break up, but it remains unclear when it will close.

That seems odd. That place prints money.

Didn't they part ways with another owner not long ago as well?

Seems like more to the story.

the city pork group bought the exchequer land & building for $500,000 (4800SF) then upgraded the kitchen to a commissary for the other locations for some items. i cant find a listing for it yet but thats clearly a good location for somebody, built out and ready to go

That's why it seems odd that he wouldn't buy it out and continue operations. Like someone said, there has to be something more to the story if they're just abandoning such a successful business.

Just so long as the one on Jefferson is being left alone. Went there for lunch on Sunday and it was delicious as usual!

they would know better than us whether it was successful or not. my understanding of the original concept there was to provide a commissary for the other two locations, maybe they decided they dont need that anymore

maybe they dont want or need three city pork locations

who knows...i doubt theres any "rest of the story" here

I think the Williams guy was an original owner with Lyons.

Maybe the City Pork owner couldn't afford an equal split without giving up one restaurant. I'd imagine the Southfin owner comes up with the Eschequer property

Maybe so. I just know that I've never been there when it wasn't packed.

Why does it always seem Hightower is screwing up a good restaurant? Why do people continue to go into business with him.
