I'm just curious if anyone here ever just feels like eating something simple/cheap that's a nod back to the past?

What are things you still have a craving for every rare once in a while?

Oh man!! I was an early 70s latch key kid and probably ate 1000s of Banquet pot pies

Put a little char on it, little bit of mustard on lightly toasted bread. Yummy.

ETA: My mom's corned beef hash cooked in a cast iron skillet with some corny cornbread.

On man, I ate a ton of those.

My favorite pot pie was Tuna Pot Pies. After years of searching, I found a recipe that tastes exactly like them. (Recipe is in the TD F&D Board Recipe Collection.)

Sometimes I miss the “taco kits” my mom would cook. Just simple basic tacos.
That and the “whatever leftovers we have casserole” simple things like that I miss the most

I was actually thinking about those and the "make at home" pizza kits, too....

Manwich

I have been craving those the past few weeks. I've also been wanting an El Charrito TV dinner but they don't make them anymore.

Scrambled eggs and pork & beans. I was an adult before I realized that wasn’t a normal combination. I still think they go great together.

Bologna sandwich

I learned as a young boy to cut slits in the bologna so it doesn’t curl. Need full contact with the pan to get it crispy.
